A look back at the month that was September: we took advantage of the spring weather to get out and about in Sydney, welcomed some little visitors to Randwick, took part in Dementia Action Week, and released a new issue of Life magazine.
Sunny springtime
Montefiore residents from all three campuses loved the sunny spring weather, spending time in the campus gardens and getting out and about in Sydney, with visits to Lady Macquarie’s Chair, Centennial Park, Clontarf, and Bondi.
Little visitors
Our youngest volunteer, Viggy, brought plenty of smiles and laughter to Randwick when he visited with mum Naomi. Montefiore’s baby volunteers spend time with residents living with dementia, with intergenerational interaction providing important emotional and socialisation benefits for both residents and babies.
Dementia Action Week
For Dementia Action Week, Montefiore encouraged our community to act now for a dementia-friendly future, hosting workshops about DementiaReady, our support service for people living at home with dementia, as well as educational initiatives for Montefiore staff. Read all about it here.
Shana Tova!
Montefiore celebrated Rosh Hashana and with it a new issue of Life magazine. In this issue, find out how four legged volunteers are bringing joy to residents, read about the magic of intergenerational connections, discover the vital work of Montefiore’s Social Workers, and so much more.
