Giving generously of your time and enthusiasm immensely improves the quality of life and wellbeing of our residents. We encourage Montefiore residents, their families and members of the wider community to become a volunteer and experience the joy of giving.
Our active volunteers provide on average 9,500 volunteer support hours annually. Become part of our volunteer community and help bring joy to the lives of others.
We provide full training for our volunteer programs. At Randwick, Hunters Hill and Woollahra campuses, you can choose from a variety of roles including:
What’s involved:
- Visiting residents in their rooms for a chat
- Taking residents for a walk around internal gardens or to the café
What’s involved:
- Supervising, teaching and playing Bridge
- Playing Rummy tiles
- Scrabble
- Floor games
- Kaluki
Who’s involved:
- Anyone who can play musical instruments and/or sing
- Keynote Speakers
- Entertainers ( actors, dancers, magicians etc.)
What’s involved:
- Art teachers to paint or draw or screen print
- Knitters
- Jewellery makers
- Sewing skills for mending/altering resident’s clothes
- Any other forms of Art
Who we’re looking for:
- Looking for someone who can speak different languages for Companionship visits. In particular Russian, Hungarian, Hebrew
- Volunteers to hold discussion groups on various subjects
Who we’re looking for:
- Looking for volunteers with retail/fashion experience to assist in boutiques
- Volunteering in a Café for anyone with an interest in hospitality. Free courses can be provided in food safety and Barista training

- Looking for volunteers with Admin experience to assist in various departments including Help at Home
