A look back at October, where we celebrated Rosh Hashana and Succot, put our dancing shoes on for a ballroom lesson, got out and about in Sydney, and celebrated our Allied Health and Catering teams.
Festive celebrations
Montefiore residents from all three campuses enjoyed wonderful celebrations for Rosh Hashana and Succot, with traditional festive foods, concerts, and Succot tea in the Succah at Randwick.
Dancing the night away
Woollahra residents got their groove on with a ballroom dancing session with teacher Charles. Dancing is a core part of Montefiore’s Leisure & Lifestyle offering to residents – not only is it a fun and engaging activity, it also promotes movement, coordination, and balance.
To the Ritz
Woollahra residents had a wonderful day out in the Eastern Suburbs, watching the movie Thelma at the Ritz cinema, followed by a picnic lunch at Centennial Park, and ending with cake and tea to celebrate recent birthdays.
Celebrating our Allied Health and Catering teams
We celebrated Allied Health Professionals Day, highlighting the vital role our Allied Health team plays in supporting the health and wellbeing of Montefiore’s residents. Our in-house Allied Health team encompasses 120+ team members across our Randwick, Hunters Hill, and Woollahra campuses, providing specialist services to residents such as physiotherapy, social work, dietetics, speech pathology, dental and creative therapy.
We also celebrated International Chefs Day, an important day to highlight the fantastic work Montefiore’s chefs do to ensure residents enjoy delicious and nutritious meals. Every day across all three campuses, they and the Catering team prepare and serve 1800+ meals, featuring cuisines from around the world and traditional Jewish favourites. They also work around the clock to deliver an exceptional dining experience to residents and families during holidays and festivals, engage with residents to learn from them in our ‘Teach the Chef’ sessions, and so much more.
