The month that was: October

At Montefiore in October, we enjoyed the warmer weather by getting out and about in Sydney, took in some fabulous art exhibitions by our talented residents, welcomed some little visitors, and celebrated our Allied Health team members.

Out and about in Sydney

It’s always a great day out to Sydney’s world class galleries and museums, and Randwick residents have enjoyed a few outings to the Art Gallery of NSW recently, taking in the different exhibitions and getting some inspiration for their own artistic endeavours.

Woollahra residents also enjoyed a fabulous day out in Randwick, watching Mr. Burton, a new release, at the Randwick Ritz, followed by a delicious lunch.

Little Chaverim at Hunters Hill

There were plenty of cuddles, laughter, and playtime activities when Hunters Hill hosted their first Little Chaverim. Residents loved spending precious time with the youngest members of the community, accompanied by their parents and caregivers. We can’t wait to welcome back our new friends soon!

Art exhibitions

Randwick resident Johnny is a familiar figure in the art room, having created many a piece for Montefiore’s festival celebrations over the years. We were thrilled to host an exhibition for Johnny recently, showcasing his wonderful artworks which include everything from picturesque sites around Sydney to important depictions of Jewish culture and faith.

Our littlest volunteer

Woollahra residents added some brightness and colour to the hallways with some beautifully put together flower bouquets. They had some extra help from our youngest volunteer, baby Amelia, who offered some excellent suggestions about which flowers would look best!

Celebrating the Allied Health team

We celebrated Allied Health Professionals Day, where we highlight the vital role our Allied Health team plays in supporting the health and wellbeing of all residents. Montefiore is proud to have over 120 allied health professionals on staff providing 15 different services, covering everything from physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and occupational therapy through to music and art therapy, ensuring holistic and well-rounded care for residents. We celebrate and thank them for their hard work and expertise.
