We take a look back at special celebrations in May for our Nurse, Volunteer, and Catering teams, fabulous Yom Ha’atzmaut festivities, and outings around Sydney (in between all that rain!).
International Nurses Day
May kicked off with International Nurses Day. We highlighted the wonderful nurses who provide care to all Montefiore residents. Our dedicated nurses bring their expertise, compassion, and companionship to residents round-the-clock, making a real difference to residents’ wellbeing and comfort.
National Volunteer Week
We celebrated National Volunteer Week! Montefiore has over 240 dedicated volunteers who give their time, energy, and enthusiasm to our residents every week. They run activities and events, provide companionship to residents, perform music and entertainment, assist in the cafe and Emporium shop, and so much more. Our volunteers bring so much joy to our residents and make a real difference in the Montefiore community.
International Hospitality Day
In recognition of International Hospitality Day we celebrated the Catering team, who work around the clock to support both residents and staff, including working during our quarterly staff award events to prepare delicious food for their colleagues. We hosted a special celebration event just for the Catering team, where they were able to relax, enjoy food prepared by someone else, and have their hard work acknowledged.
Yom Ha’atzmaut
Residents and staff had a fabulous time onYom Ha’atzmaut, commemorating the declaration of independence of the modern state of Israel in May 1948. Residents and staff across Randwick, Hunters Hill, and Woollahra enjoyed music, treats, and festivities to mark this important day.
Out and About in Sydney
Woollahra residents enjoyed trips out to La Perouse and Flower Power nursery, as well as checking out the brilliant Vivid lights.
