The month that was: July

We take a look back at July, where we celebrated the arrival of winter, took in the stunning Vivid lights on Darling Harbour, and enjoyed a whole lot of baking for cosy afternoon teas to escape the cold

Winter festivities

Hunters Hill turned into a winter wonderland for the night, as residents and staff got dressed up in their best cosy cold-weather gear for an evening of singing, dancing and celebrating the arrival of winter.

Vivid lights

Randwick residents got rugged up and had a fabulous night out a few weeks ago to take in the stunning Vivid lights at Darling Harbour.

The Great Montefiore Bake Off

Woollahra residents gave the thumbs up to these delicious mini cheesecakes for Shavuot, thanks to the baking skills of staff member Laura. And over at Hunters Hill, the resident cooking group baked another delicious treat using a recipe from resident Majorie’s personal cookbook – Stuffed Monkeys – a traditional Jewish South African fruit-filled biscuit. Residents loved this treat, many fondly remembering enjoying it from their childhood.

Out and about in Sydney

The cold weather hasn’t stopped our residents from enjoying everything Sydney has to offer. Woollahra residents had a beautiful day out at the Deckhouse at Woolwich, Hunters Hill residents rugged up and enjoyed a day out in the fresh seaside air at beautiful Balmoral Beach, and Randwick residents took a trip out to see an Australian icon – the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
