The month that was: January and February

It’s a two-for-one as we take a look back at highlights from January and February, with outings around Sydney, visitors over the holidays, and plenty of birthday celebrations.

Out and about in Sydney

As summer comes to an end, we’ve experienced some brilliant sunny weather (in between all that rain!). Randwick residents enjoyed a day out under sunny skies at Coogee Beach, and Woollahra residents had a fantastic morning out at the Deckhouse in Woolwich, where they enjoyed coffee and pastries.

A look inside the Hunters Hill art room

Our crafty residents at Hunters Hill have been busy, creating some wonderfully messy art pieces using inks and watercolour paper, with mark-making tools like sticks, leaves and bubble blowers. They also painted beautiful Australia-themed artworks, incorporating traditional Indigenous dot painting techniques.

Dancing joy

Teachers Charles and Candy had Hunters Hill residents smiling and laughing as the swung around the room during a joyous ballroom dancing lesson.

A visit from Moriah College

Many hands make for light work, and there were plenty of helping hands available when Moriah College students came to visit Randwick residents for a day of crafting and baking Challah. A fantastic time was had by all creating, sharing food and learning from each other.

Birthday celebrations

We got the balloons and cake out to celebrate a couple of triple-digit birthdays, as Hunters Hill resident Miriam turned 101 and Randwick resident Gina turned 100.
