A look back at August, where residents got into the Olympic spirit, baked some delicious winter treats, showed off their bingo and snooker skills, and we celebrated all staff for Aged Care Employee Day.
The Olympic Spirit
Randwick residents enjoyed watching the impressive feats of athleticism on show at both the Olympics and Paralympics, and got into the spirit of the games with their own Olympics tournament. There was cheering, friendly competition, and gold medals all around.
Saying goodbye to winter
We’re loving the sunny spring weather right now, but Woollahra residents enjoyed the perfect winter’s treat at the end of August: a freshly baked apple pie, thanks to the baking talents of residents Fay and Julian.
Bingo & snooker
Randwick residents showed off their snooker skills with some drinks to wrap up the month, and Russian residents at Hunters Hill enjoyed their regular game of bingo run by Russian-speaking members of the team – a great way to socialise, have fun, and exercise memory skills.
Aged Care Employee Appreciation Day
On August 7th we said #ThanksforCaring to all Montefiore staff and celebrated Aged Care Employee Day. Every day, Montefiore’s 1200 staff across Randwick, Hunters Hill and Woollahra give their all to support residents to live with choice, dignity and wellbeing. Montefiore CEO, Robert Orie, and residents Norma, Michael, and Vera had some words of thanks for our staff:
