Michael Graf has more than 25 years in the information technology industry working for IBM for almost this entire period. During the course of his career at IBM, he took on leadership roles across a number of business units in the IT Services, IBM Software and Hardware divisions. He was responsible for the business and staff management for each division, which included the delivery of financial and resource management objectives.
His final role within IBM was as leader of the Growth Markets Unit for IBM Business Partner Hardware Programs where he worked with IBM teams and Independent Software Vendors across the developing world (Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Middle-East). He left IBM at the end of April 2014 after a distinguished career.
For more than 8 years, Michael was on the Board of JCA (NSW), a communal charity that raises funds for over 20 local communal organisations. For 5 years, he was Vice President and Fundraising Chairman for JCA, during which period the organisation raised almost $64 million. His roles on the JCA Board and Committees encompassed fundraising, donor engagement and marketing.
Michael is a Board Member of the Technion Society of Australia (NSW) (TSA), where he is involved in a strategic review of the organisation. TSA fosters innovation through building collaborative research agreements between Australian universities and the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. TSA also supports scholarship programs for students to study at the Technion and for the interchange of students and professors to increase research in leading-edge areas of science and industry.
Michael is a member of the Board of The Joint Australia, supporting the global JDC organisation and is part of a number of communal committees.
Michael sits on a number of Technology Advisory Boards for both not-for-profits (such as Good2Give) as well as some small IT startups.
Michael manages a number of private investments and property developments.
Michael is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
