We have upgraded our common living spaces to be more domestic in look and function and have also created unique staffing arrangements that focus on everyday patterns and roles.You will effectively lead and supervise the Homemaker team to support people living with dementia, enabling them to participate in everyday activities to their best ability. As a supervisor you will coordinate and mentor staff ensuring the overall smooth running of the household, as well as providing direct care and support to residents.The role is key to implementing Montefiore’s Dementia Model and is supported by a capable and well-resourced inter-disciplinary team.What we require:Demonstrated experience and knowledge of working with people with moderate to severe dementiaDemonstrated initiative and leadership qualitiesHigh level organisation, planning, problem solving and negotiating skillsAn ability and interest to develop authentic and respectful relationships with residents, families, and staffExcellent verbal, nonverbal and written communication skillsCooking/meal preparation/presentation and service skills (in the context of a domestic environment)Understanding or experience with a food safety programmeUnderstanding of infection control and food safety guidelinesMinimum Certificate III qualification in Aged Care Work or equivalentA commitment, where the role requires, to undertake further studies and qualifications, including medication managementIntermediate computer skills, including ability to input data to our client information management system, and utilising any relevant electronic systemsPreferred:Previous experience in a similar supervisory roleFirst Aid CertificateCertificate IV qualification in aged careHousehold and recreational activity skills, such as light domestic tasks, games, gardeningWorking in a continuous improvement environmentAbout us:Montefiore is an award-winning, Sydney-based aged care provider, with a proud 130-year history as a non-profit organisation founded on Jewish values.
