You will oversee the quality of all food prepared in the Kitchen and also oversee the presentation for service of all menu content.Key Responsibilities:Adherence to budgeted food costsControl of food cost, wastage, and spoilagePurchasing of food product under the direction of the Head ChefStock rotation and securityAssist the Head Chef with staff rostering and wage management of all Kitchen production, stewarding and servery personnelMaintaining and promoting clean and hygienic work practicesEnsure all Kitchen and servery areas comply with hygienic standards to prevent contamination of any kindCompliance to HACCP food preparation standardsAssist the Head Chef with training, development, motivation, and management of all Kitchen staffOversee maintenance and cleaning of all machinery, equipment, and utensilsEssential Criteria:Solid culinary skills acquired through formal trainingA recognised qualification within hospitalityCan-do attitudeStrong leadership abilityTeam player with the desire to grow and mentor other employees Excellent communication skillsUnderstand the needs and expectations of our residents, who are our primary focus within the HomeDesirable Criteria:Experience working in an aged care settingQualification in Hotel or Commercial CateringAbout Us:Montefiore is an award-winning, Sydney-based aged care provider, with a proud 130-year history as a non-profit organisation founded on Jewish values.
