Saying thank you to our team on Aged Care Employee Day

This year has shown us that now, more than ever, Montefiore’s greatest asset is our compassionate, dedicated and professional workforce who go above and beyond every day in their commitment to supporting the older members of our community.

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, they’ve adapted to many new precautions and procedures, undergone extensive additional training, and continued to provide outstanding care under difficult circumstances such as the closure of our residential care sites to visitors.

Today, August 7, is Aged Care Employee Day, and we’d love our community to join our CEO and Leadership Team pictured above in saying thank you to the amazing Monte team – nursing and allied health, catering and hotel services, home care, M by Montefiore and corporate support. Learn about some of their experiences in Aged Care and working through COVID-19 below and over the coming week on YoutubeFacebook and Instagram. You can also leave a message of thanks with the tag #thanksforcaring

Meet some of the team…

Lynette, Physiotherapy Manager

“Walking into the physio room on my first day, it was bustling with activity and such a welcoming environment. Theres’s a broad allied health team with all their expertise to draw on, and a strong community I love working with.”

Megan, Social Worker

“I get to witness those tiny but special moments between staff and residents – like an AIN (care worker) sitting with a resident in their room, singing together. It’s the difference between being ‘cared for’ and experiencing real care.”

Dominique, Chef Manager

“It’s been a challenge to keep things interesting for the residents while our campus has been closed during COVID-19. I don’t just want to provide food, but the atmosphere – for me it’s a proud moment when my customers are happy.”

Rupa, Clinical Nurse Specialist

“I started in aged care as a casual job when I moved to Australia. I enjoyed it and felt so blessed to find a connection with people and feel their love. I decided to pursue my career as a registered nurse, and now I’m doing it!”

Ellie, Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant

“I had a proud Montefiore moment today, when we received a message for our whole care unit from a resident’s husband, recognising the great atmosphere here and thanking us for the care we provide.”

Frank, Dining Room Supervisor

“The biggest challenge during COVID-19 has been taking precautions and keeping ourselves safe, so we can keep the residents safe. I enjoy working with the older generation – they’ve become friends.”
