An update from Montefiore CEO Robert Orie of the recent audits conducted at Randwick, Woollahra and Hunters Hill by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
Over the last 12 months, all three Montefiore campuses – Randwick, Woollahra and Hunters Hill – have undergone a full accreditation site audit by members of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. For each facility, assessors spent several days on-site interviewing residents, families and staff members and reviewing policies, procedures and staff practices.
The Aged Care Quality Standards cover every element of a resident’s clinical and personal care and extends to areas such as the service’s environment, human resources and organisational governance. Providing choice, dignity, and wellbeing is the primary focus of these standards – and at the heart of everything we do here at Montefiore.
It gives me great pleasure to confirm that all three Montefiore campuses have been assessed as meeting all the accreditation quality standards and achieved the maximum three-year accreditation period.
Whilst we were confident in the outcome, it is always gratifying to receive external acknowledgement of the high quality, personalised, and holistic care our staff deliver every day.
Some highlights from the Randwick assessment report include:
Our dedicated staff have navigated the challenges of changing COVID-19 guidelines and regulations for several years now. Achieving a “fully met” in this accreditation, given the additional complexities of COVID-19 is even more remarkable. The compassion and kindness our staff have shown toward each other and in the care they continue to provide to residents is outstanding. Every member of the team should take great pride in this successful accreditation result.
