Innovation and research

We’ve spent 130 years improving the way we deliver aged care, and we’re always evolving.

That’s why Montefiore takes innovation and research seriously in all areas of the organisation, from dementia research to cutting-edge equipment and staff training programs. That’s why we’re one of Australia’s most awarded aged care providers. Keep an eye on our News section for the latest updates.

CHeBA research partnership

Montefiore recently agreed to fund a renewed five-year partnership with the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA) at UNSW. This will allow us to commission research and implement best practice in dementia care. “CHeBA looks forward to a productive collaboration with Montefiore, and to achieve excellence in care for its clients, residents and families,” says Professor Henry Brodaty AO, Montefiore Chair of Healthy Brain Ageing and Co-Director of CHeBA. COPE dementia support program

Montefiore is also currently involved in the COPE trial, designed to support people with dementia and their carers living independently in the community. Read more about the trial and how you can take part here.

Strength training success

After participating in a successful trial with Helsinki University Research (HUR) Australia using exercise equipment specifically designed for older people, Montefiore purchased the equipment for ongoing use by residents and Help at Home clients at our Randwick Campus. The strength program was featured in a recent SBS TV program here.
